Ecological Internet is sad to report that two local rainforest conservationists, protesting to save the Mabira protected rainforest from being 1/3 cleared for sugar cane have, were shot dead when protesting according to BBC. Sulitnya berjuang mempertahankan hutan. Kepentingan industri terus menggeser kepentingan ekologi. Perlahan namun pasti, kepentingan industri yang berada dalam lingkar modal telah merusakkan sumber-sumber kehidupan masa mendatang. Dengan uang, segalanya diharapkan pasti ada, namun ketika tak ada air dan udara sehat, maka tak akan lagi berguna segudang keping uang emas.
